How Do I Avoid Work From Home Scams And Find Real Virtual Job Links?

It’s a jungle out here on the world wide web.  Especially if you’re using internet searches to find employment.  However, it’s an even deeper darker jungle when you are searching for employment from home.  Intuit predicts that 46% of the world’s workforce is projected to be virtual by 2027. Forbes is predicting over 50% of the world will be working remotely sooner than that. I don’t know which survey study is closer to being correct but I’m not here to split hairs over 6%. These numbers are pretty impressive for those of us who already work from home because we can finally breathe a sigh of relief that we heading in the right direction with our careers.




Ive worked from home since 2013. I started with LiveOps after my fourth consecutive pregnancy simply did not allow me the opportunity to work from home. Even though my spouse at the time made enough to cover expenses, ex-war veterans have a way of letting you know you need a backup plan. Fortunately for me and my children, that backup plan was a solid investment.

I’ve worked for very reputable companies providing call-center customer service including companies like AAA Roadside Assistance and the Home Shopping Network. Right from the comfort of my own home. When I started in 2013 this was something really new. People were typically hired as independent contractors which meant they were on their own.  This meant fighting for and setting our own hours, keeping accurate tax records, and covering the overhead of training time and software assistance. And the benefits? Forget about it. But times have now changed for the better. Several companies now offer impressive and competitive benefits packages that include dental, vision, and 401k. Did I  mention that many of them also offer paid training?

I love this shift in the job market. It opens so many opportunities to make a decent salary and spend more time at home with your family. While there is a multitude of ways to work from home or remotely as an independent contractor, this is not for the faint-hearted.  Coming into this sector for the first time can be confusing, overwhelming, and sometimes downright scary. There is a lot to learn and I’m going to be honest with you, this is not easy money. You will have to work at this, you will not become a millionaire overnight, and while no one will be asking you to buy anything you will have to invest in your home office. The investment is small, but the rewards are great. Plus if you’ve ever worked in a call center/office environment, this should be a breeze for you.  Even if you haven’t done this type of work before, my tips should guide you a little.

Are you old enough to remember the masses laughing when Bill Gates said there would be a computer in every home by the year 2020? It’s 2018 and now we have computers in nearly every hand. Are the masses still laughing? No. And you shouldn’t be laughing at the prediction of remote working and if you are, right now you should be laughing all the way to the bank. It’s not too late to get in on this lifestyle change. As a matter of fact, I think it’s going to be the workforce trend of the next century.

Unfortunately, scammers also know this is a key employment opportunity. They know that there are people like you are out here looking for virtual work and because the scammers’ work is virtual, they often intercept you unknowingly. I have felt strongly for a long time that a free safe space needed to be created to make these searches safer. I guess you could call this article and my information page a small step towards that.  There a few safe websites out there, but none without flaws.
